Avocados from Mexican make their way to Washington D.C.

In honor of the Cinco de Mayo holiday, the Avocado Producers and Exporting Packers Association of Michoacán (APEAM) delivered 720 boxes of fresh Avocados from Mexico to the Mexican Embassy in Washington DC.

The fruit was presented to Ambassador Arturo Sarukhan and will be disbursed among notable federal agencies, including the White House, Congressional Representatives, Senators and NGO's in Washington D.C. as in past years.

“APEAM is pleased to have the opportunity to once again supply Avocados from Mexico to our U.S. government agencies in honor of Cinco de Mayo,” said Emiliano Escobedo Marketing Director for Avocados from Mexico. “In fact, President Felipe Calderón recently mentioned that during his last visit to the U.S. in March, various politicians and senior officials thanked him for the gesture.”
