In 2012, the Water Dragon year signifies strong mind power and perseverance which eventually helps us achieve our goals and bring our success to greater heights.

So, what can Malaysians look forward? Those babies born in the first half of 2012 will be better in monetary management and planning. Hence, they can become good enterprisers due to their hardworking, realistic, law-abiding characteristics. Babies born in the second hard of 2012 are more artistic, creative and liberal in thoughts. They would fare well as artists and inventors.

In the 2012 year of Revival, we all must react fast enough to the market changes and challenges, handle the uncertainty calmly with a clear mind, manage challenges and Lifepath wisely, working hand-in-hand with potential working partners and to leverage on others’ strength so that can eventually turn the risks to opportunities.

From the 4th of February, 2012 to the 3rd of February 2012, it is advisable not to perform any renovation or alteration in the north, south, southeast and northwest sectors of the house or office.

Houses face to the Northeast, West and South will be showered by lots of prosperity energies.

Especially houses or offices with main doors face to northeast and west, there will be more happy events for celebrations such as business or career advancements, pregnancy, wedding and better opportunities in wealth creation and accumulation.

Fruity diet tips from Indra Balaratnam for CNY 2012

According to Ms. Indra Balaratnam, a well-known local dietitian, the public must pace themselves during the festive season as they will be busy with open houses, spring cleaning and other CNY routines.   “Proper nutrition will help you during this time.

Be mindful and eat only small amounts at each house you visit..from Ms. Indra

Some people have a tendency of overindulging during the Chinese New Year festive season with eating traditional processed waxed meats, too much alcohol and smoking.  All these indulgences have repercussions to the body. Take more fruits that are rich in antioxidants, which may help off-set some of the damaging effects of these lifestyle habits.

Strenuous open houses during the festive season can take its toll and cause indigestion. To avoid that, have some pineapple after a heavy meal as it contains bromelain, an enzyme to aid with digestion.

During the festive season, you are likely to be travelling and being in a new environment. A change in your normal bowel routine can cause constipation. Don’t be quick to use laxatives. Have fiber –rich fruit instead. This will soften stools to gently relieve constipation.  Chinese pears are high in fibre and helps regulate bowel movement.

Chinese New Year celebrations run for 15 days. A common complaint is falling sick and having sore throat due to overindulging on heavy meals. Ensure you have your fruits during this time, which is a good source of Vitamin C. This vitamin helps to boost your immune system, helping you to better keep the flu and sore throats at bay.

Fruits with red or purple hues are loaded with antioxidants which boosts the immune system.

Festive season will usually have alcohol, which is a diuretic as it draws water out of you. Do drink plenty of water to replenish fluid loss and to stay hydrated. As a rule of thumb, for every alcoholic drink, replenish fluids by drinking a glass of water. Freshly squeezed fruit juice is naturally tasty way to boost your fluid intake to rehydrate – with the added boost of vitamins and minerals.  Give 2-3 fruit juice combinations, if possible.
